This is what was discussed here some time ago. We _have to_ go back
to sourceforge's vidix.

I'm sure it can't be too difficult. We depend on a lot of external
libraries, and a new version of the libraries triggers a new version of 
mplayer in a very small time.

vidix is just another library. Somebody who understands the API should
spend a couple of nights in it and port it to the new API.

I don't volunteer because I'm sure there are people here who have much 
more knowledge of vidixlib than I do.

(And I'm not forgetting Trident. I think somebody should have a look a 
our Trident support and port it to sourceforge)

If nobody really can do it, I'll have a look at it in August, but I 
doubt I'll manage to port it myself alone.
