Ah, I see.  So I would take the 700MB (non-indexed) file and do:

  mencoder 700MB_Divx.avi -idx -oac copy -ovc copy -o "700MB_Dinv_index.avi"

Yeah, okay, that sounds quite doable.  I will gove that a go and see what
