Any video playback I try results in audio playing fine, but a pink
screen for the video. I tried changing the color depth to 16-bits, but
that did not help.

My system is:
Athlon 1.2GHz, 384 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 8500LE
Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 91 monitor (19in)
Red Hat Linux 9, kernel 2.4.20-13.9
mplayer-common 0.90-1.athlon
mplayer-gui, mplayer-vidix, and mplayer-vidix-radeon-0.90-1

I get the following output when attempting to play an MPEG file:

[root at tyrone My Music]# gmplayer kylie\ minogue-cant\ get\ you\ out\ of\
my\ head.mpg
