[MPlayer-users] can mplayer read subs files _whilst_ they are beeing written?

hi,

i just stumpled over a post here of a guy asking how to put subs to a movie.

i just built a system to display sms (yep, mobile phone messages) under a
video wich is scaled and positioned on a led wall using mplayer. hmm, i'll
need this stuff again in a couple of month and i wonder if it isn't possible
to generate a subs file that mplayer reads, whils it is constantly being
generated. that would be brilliant..

any ideas on this?
