But weird, with XINE I don't get any sound from my DVD-ROM if I enable that.

firmware? drivers from sourceforge? what do you mean? 
I use the emu10k1 scripts, but I get weird results with it :(

this is my emu10k1.conf:

and I get NO_SOUND after ./emu-script ... I have to use USE_DIGITAL_OUTPUT=no
to get some sound.
