I have an ATI mach64 video card on my laptop (Compaq Armada M300). I
installed mplayer onto the laptop, together with the vidix and mach64
driver. Everything seems to be fine when I test it with "root".

==========================================================================
No vidix driver name provided, probing available ones!
[mach64] Found chip: 3D Rage LT Pro
libdha: DHA kernelhelper failed: No such file or directory
libdha: DHA kernelhelper failed: No such file or directory
[mach64] Video memory = 4Mb
[mach64] Set write-combining type of video memory
[mach64] Planar YUV formats are supported :)
VIDIX: Description: BES driver for Mach64/3DRage cards
VIDIX: Author: Nick Kurshev and Michael Niedermayer

But when i switch back to a common user, and try to use vidix mode to
play back the same video again, mplayer reported failure. the following
is the out put:

==========================================================================
No vidix driver name provided, probing available ones!
[mach64] Error occured during pci scan: Operation not permitted
vosub_vidix: Couldn't find working VIDIX driver
[x11] NET style stay on top ( layer 0 ). Using state
_NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN.
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

I suppose it should be a bug on mach64 vidix driver, and hope someone
would like to fix it.
The other info about my machine is listed below:
OS: RedHat Linux 8.0
CPU: PIII 600MHz
SDRAM: 128MB
