[MPlayer-users] MPlayer works like a charm, just need a few tips!

you cant.

if you want to crop, you'll have to reencode. :(

hmm... tell us what exactly are you trying to achive?
one big vob file? one big mpeg2 file?

for creating rips, why don't simply 

cat *.vob | mencoder 

and reencode the audio + video....
