[MPlayer-users] Mencoder Jpg Frames & Audio

I am trying to encode an AVI (or any other video format, really)
>From a series of JPGs and an MP3 file.

I'm encountering 1 problem:

Telling mencoder to add the MP3 to the resulting video file at all (in
fact, I can't seem to get audio to work even with out the JPG frames,
just WAV to MP3 in tests)

I've been at this for 2 weeks now, and I'm just about fed up!
Here's what I've got so far (that obviously isn't working so well):

mencoder  \*.jpg -audiofile prar.mp3 -oac mp3lame -mf on:fps=15 -o
output.avi -ovc divx4 -vop rgb2bgr

I've also tried it with a WAV rather than an MP3.
I've tried explicitly defining the names of the JPGs.
I've tried -oac copy
I've tried only encoding with the MP3/WAV with no JPGs.

And worse yet I've RTFM!!!

At the end of the day I'm still baffled on how to create a movie from a
stream of JPGs with an MP3 media track.

Any ideas?
