[MPlayer-users] Resulting AVIs too small

Hello.

When rendering the video of the Panic Room DVD, the resulting AVIs are much
smaller than they should be.

Here is my command line:

mencoder -dvd-device source/ -dvd 1 -oac copy -noskip -o pass1.avi -ovc \
	lavc -vop crop=720:436:0:70 \
	-passlogfile pass1.men.log \
	-lavcopts
aspect=2.35/1.0:vcodec=mpeg4:vhq:vqmin=2:vqmax=31:vpass=1:vbitrate=1608472

..and then the same with "vpass=2" for the second pass.

As you see, the bitrate should be aroung 1608 kbit/s.

And here's what mencoder prints out (after first pass):
Video stream: 1139.774 kbit/s (142471 bps) size: 917785851 bytes 6441.880
secs 161049 frames

...and after the second pass:
Video stream: 1171.405 kbit/s (146425 bps) size: 943255909 bytes 6441.880
secs 161049 frames

Strange, isn't it?

The video seems to be okay, the quality is not bad at all. But I don't want to
waste that much space on my backup cds. So for two cds, I would really like
to use the 1400 MB.

Thanks in advance for your answers.
