hi,

i finally got around to building a DVD player for the living room using a
DXR3 Hollywood+ card for TVout. I am using a GE video converter to convert
the signal to F-type

i got the latest drivers for the dxr3 and the latest mplayer, and it
_seems_ to be working. i say seems because mplayer is chugging along
merily but i cannot get anything on the TV...

the documentation on the dxr3 is rather sparse, and i could not tell if
the example given means that the overlay is enabled or not,

for testing i am using the command:
#mplayer -vo dxr3 -dvd 1
and
<SNIP>
VO: [dxr3] Opened /dev/em8300-0
VO: [dxr3] Opened /dev/em8300_mv-0
VO: [dxr3] Opened /dev/em8300_sp-0
==========================================================================
Opening video decoder: [mpegpes] MPEG 1/2 Video passthrough
VDec: vo config request - 720 x 480 (preferred csp: Mpeg PES)
VDec: using Mpeg PES as output csp (no 0)
Movie-Aspect is 1.33:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect.
VO: [dxr3] 720x480 => 720x540 Mpeg PES
VO: [dxr3] Setting aspect ratio to 4:3
Selected video codec: [mpegpes] vfm:mpegpes (Mpeg PES output (.mpg or
Dxr3/DVB card))
</SNIP>

this is the output... does this mean that it is using the
overlay/passthrough cable? how so how do i enable the TV-out?
