[MPlayer-users] wmf very slow

please visit live.markiza.sk (easy to understand webpage for 
czech/slovak mplayer-users but i think others could figure it out also.. 
hint: click on "archiv vysielania" followed by any link). when i copy 
link location of "prehraj" link (means play) into mplayer commandline, 
mplayer unfortunatelly cannot recognize the video format :( playing from 
WMF link is very very slow in comparision to windoze's media player 
(running on slower pc!).
can anyone tell me where is the problem??

my hw configuration (if it helps):
- amd xp 1800+
- matrox g550
- 256 ram

- mplayer compiled from sources
- no additional parameters for playback
