[MPlayer-users] mencoder: how to split video -> set of png/jpeg files ?

Dear Sirs,

there's an example in man page which shows how to compose avi (or
whatever) from set of jpeg/png files.

I've installed some video editing programmes, most of them require set of
jpeg files, they do not deal directly with avi.

Is it possible to split avi into set of jpeg using mencoder ? Some other
program ?
