[MPlayer-users] OGM and playlists

Hi,

I wanted to make an OGM file which would do the following: Suppose one has
3 video streams. When stream 1 ends, go on with stream 3, when 2 ends
continue with stream 3 as well. Graphically:

  1 --\
       }--> 3
  2 --/

Unfortunately, OGM does not support this out of the box. After a brief
discussion with some people I began to see that with a simple playlist one
can be very artistic constructing a movie. A playlist could look as
something like this:

Program 1
Play Video stream 0
Play Audio stream 1
Play Subtitle stream 2
Play Video stream 3
Play Video stream 5

Program 2
Play Video stream 0
Play Audio stream 6
Play Video stream 4
Play Audio stream 7

etc.

so the user can choose which program to play. OGM would be very nice since
it is possible to contain multiple stream. Unfortunately, OGM is a
finished format now.

So how about this: put the playlist in a subtitle stream and make the
player able to do something with the information in it. It does not look
to be that complicated, so is there any future for this in mplayer?

Thanks,
Sebastiaan

NT is the OS of the future. The main engine is the 16-bit Subsystem
(also called MS-DOS Subsystem). Above that, there is the windoze 95/98
16-bit Subsystem. Anyone can see that 16+16=32, so windoze NT is a
  *real* 32-bit system.
