[MPlayer-users] Feature Request: direct access to osd

Hi!

I would like a little feature to display custom messages in mplayers
osd/subtitles (like `xawtv-remote msg foo` or `xawtv-remote vtx bar` at
xawtv).

I want to display more or less important messages (logfiles, irc-channel
;), ...) while watching a movie in fullscreenmode (i can do this with
xawtv ...).
