libdvdread cannot read encrypted dvd's without libdvdcss.
it is in the docs.

AFAIK, there is no reason for you to need libcss-0.0.1 .

Subject: [MPlayer-users] encrypted dvds II

[Automatic answer: RTFM (read DOCS, FAQ), also read DOCS/bugreports.html]
Hi,

again.. if someone could explain to me what is the
problem:

I could compile and install the rc4 version from
source
and this would play dvds ok (with mpdvdkit) but
libdvdread said there was no support for encrypted
ones.
After several attempts, I managed to make everything
work, using pre-made RPMS (??!!):

libdvdcss-1.2.5-fr1.i386.rpm
libdvdread-0.9.4-fr2.i386.rpm

by freshrpms

mplayer-vidix-trident-0.90rc4-2.i386.rpm
mplayer-common-0.90rc4-2.i386.rpm
mplayer-0.90rc4-2.i386.rpm

by mplayer-rpms.

Can someone explain me what was wrong?
And again, where do I find libcss-0.0.1?

Thanks,
greetings
