To shed even some more light on the problem, this is the movie type
reported by the Windows Quicktime player:
format: Photo - JPEG, 640 x 272, Millions
QDesign Music 2, Stereo, 44.1 Khz, 16 bits
QDesign Music 2, Stereo, 44.1 Khz, 16 bits
Movie FPS: 23.99
Data Size: 141,2 Mb
Data Rate: 260,4 Kb/sec
Although this might be irrelevant to us Linux users, it explains why
mplayer cannot play this file without the mentioned patch.
It is really stupid, it's like they took each frame of the anime,
scanned it to JPEG files and cat them to a MOV container...
Yuck!

yes that patch helps, but still audio/video will be desynced.
