I definitly am interested in this. Right now I only get a few proper frames 
with plain green frames in between (when using mplayer -tv... -xawtv works 
fine). I have a Medion 5044 card, with a saa7134 chip on it. I'm using a v4l2 
patched 2.4.20 kernel and the saa7134 driver version 2.4.

Unfortunatly the patch you posted didn't compile for me (stopped at 
tvi_v4l2...error1). Do you have a more recent version that I could try?

I am currently using mplayer 0.90rc4.
