[MPlayer-users] Fonts are #?.desc and #?.raw only :-(

I pulled the fonts off mplayerhq.hu and those archives do not contain 
ttf fonts :-(

gmplayer asks for the ttf file of the font or whether my font.desc file 
is b0rken

where was I lead astray?
