[MPlayer-users] request: making ss / endpos act like chapter

hi, 

Can i request that it be possible to access and play sections of an avi 
file in the same way as a dvd or vice versa.

to play chapters in a dvd it's -chapter START-END
but files are -ss START -endpos LENGTH-TO-PLAY

maybe the functionality to have a definite start and end point (i.e. so it 
is NOT relative) could be added to file playback?
