[MPlayer-users] divx2pass.log has a size of 0

I submitted a bug report on Aug 25, 2003 which reported mencoder
crashing on the second pass, that report can be found here

A couple days later I found a message of someone reporting a similar
problem, and they traced it back to some change done in lavc that was
not accounted for in mencoder when using b-frames.  This resulted in a
divx2pass.log that contained all zeros.  In the case of my bug report it
was a 23 MB file of zeros.  

I've updated my CVS to 8/29 and now the divx2pass.log has a size of 0,
after which mencoder seg faults.  I get an empty divx2pass.log when I
encode with or without b-frames.

Considering the change in what I am observing, it looks like this may be
getting some attention.  I'm just curious if others are having similar
issues, and if this is actually being looked into.
