When I try to run gmplayer I get the following:

Reading config file /usr/local/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf: No such file or
directory
Reading config file /root/.mplayer/config
[cfg] read config file: /root/.mplayer/gui.conf

display)

Can't open input config file /root/.mplayer/input.conf: No such file or
directory
Can't open input config file /usr/local/etc/mplayer/input.conf: No such
file or directory
Falling back on default (hardcoded) input config
SKIN dir 1: '/root/.mplayer/Skin'
SKIN dir 2: '/usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin'

[Here I have to type C-c because it hangs.]

MPlayer interrupted by signal 2 in module: unknown

[I don't normally run it as root, but the errors are all in Japanese if
I run it in my user account - the error problem the same, however.]

I downloaded a font and a skin, and put them in the proper locations

$HOME/.mplayer/Skin

as well as

/usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin[/default/skin] <- I tried both

but it's not working.

Should I put the skins in their own folders? (i.e. phony = directory
"phony" etc.)

I read TFM (Appendix D) but it wasn't very clear on this point.

Thanks,
