[MPlayer-users] On Screen Display corruption when playing DVD w/DXR3 TV out

Hello:

I am using Mplayer-0.90 on a system with a DXR3 card, and while playing a DVD, the
on screen display (Stream position, time, etc) appears very corrupted or
nonexistent. Playing an MPEG2 stream encoded with a WinTV PVR 250 (using drivers
from ivtv.sf.net), the on screen display looks fine when playing through a DXR3.
Not sure why this is since the DVD video and MPEG2 stream have very similiar
properties in bit rate, resolution, etc.

The problem does not occur at all when using the xv video driver. The only
difference I can see as a possibility is that the MPEG2 streams from the PVR card
are interlaced, and I believe the DVD content is progressive. (Hannibal Region 1 - US).

There is a note in the docs about OSD having refresh problems when using a DXR3, is
this the same issue?

System:

Running Mplayer-0.90 (compiled from source) on RH 8.0, kernel 2.4.20 from
kernel.org, Intel P3 850, 512MB RAM, 440BX Chipset

Thanks,

Rett Walters
