[MPlayer-users] Question about mencode

Hi

I've just come to use mencode and I'm facing a few problems:

1. Is it possible to use the crop filter to cut away at the right side /
bottom? I've found no way to do this - cutting the left / top works well.

2. Is it possible to pass -- options to lame? I've tried -lameopts
someopts:rescale 24 without success - but I'd like to change the 48kHz
audio into 24kHz very much.

3. Is there a deinterlacing filter available yet? Combined with a cutting
from every side this would make my life much easier.

4. Is there a way to normalize the audio? I could probably extract the audio,
pass it through sox and then again into mencode somehow but I'd still need
something to scan for the value to normalize to.

Besides those problems MPlayer and mencoder are extremly usefull tools for
anyone how uses a DVB card. I've not found a Windows software yet which
would allow me to reencode the MPEG 2 streams as fast as mencode (which
isn't even compiled by me yet) and more importantly ignores errors as good
as mencode.

Bye David
