hi all,
i've got a problem with mencoder. When i'm trying to encode a movie (of any
type)
into divx5 format, mencoder exits with segmentation fault. I tried it with
v0.90pre6,
0.60, and the current cvs release. With the cvs release, it's a bit
different, now it
does not segfault, but but does not process any of the video frames. The
audio
codecs work well, and the video codecs too, except divx.
I've got divx4linux501-20020418.tgz installed. I had many previous version
of
mplayer already running well on my system (can't remember witch versions),
before i upgraded my debian potato to woody.
I have been told to read the bugreports.html, so at first here are the
system specs:

os: debian woody 3.0
kernel: 2.4.18
libc6: 2.2.5-11.1
X: xfree86-common 4.1.0-16
gcc: version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
ld: GNU ld version 2.12.90.0.1 20020307 Debian/GNU Linux
as: GNU assembler version 2.12.90.0.1 (i386-linux) using BFD version
  2.12.90.0.1 20020307 Debian/GNU Linux
cpu: Celeron (Mendocino) 533
videocard: VGA compatible controller: S3 Inc. 86c368 [Trio 3D/2X] (rev 02)
soundcard: not installed

the command that didn't run:
mencoder -ovc divx4 -oac mp3lame -divx4opts br=700:key=250:q=5 \
-lameopts br=128 -o test.avi input.avi

i attached the bugreport as requested in the bugreports.html,
it would be nice if anyone could help. thanks.

bye, gif
