sorry, my bad, should have done so from the start..
Hardware i'm using:
RedHat 8.0 3.2-7 on a AMD Athlon(tm) 900MHz with an Elitegroup mainboard
(K7S5A) with 384MB SDRam (133MHz) (Kernel version: 2.4.18-18.8.0)

gcc ver. 3.2
ld ver. 2.13.90.0.2
libc ver. 2.2.93

i am in doubt that stats of my video/sound card are of need, just incase
here they are anyway:
NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX 400 using the X built-in driver

Soundcard: SiS 735 onboard using the driver that came with RedHat

i don't *think* that the config logs should be needed, as i didn't
complie with anything unusual (apart from XviD), what i did was: get the
xvid cvs snapshot, get divx4linux from www.divx.com, then do as the
manual says, ie: copy the libxvidcore.a and .so to /usr/local/lib then
copy xvid.h and divx4.h from the xvid release to /usr/local/include and
not to forget, the encore2.h and decore.h from the divx4linux release
(also going in that directory).
last of all i used the command ./configure
--with-xvidcore=/us/local/lib/libxvidcore.a

let me know if the logs are needed, and i'll just upload them somewhere,
as it would most certainly be a drag to send them to the list, also
probably not allowed due to restricted mailsize i should think..
*shrugs*
