Hi,

my system is Debian 3.0, running on Athlon XP1700. I have compiled
MPlayer 0.90pre10 using GCC 2.95.4. I am trying to crop and resize an
NTSC DVD movie. Here is my command line:
mencoder unnamed-001.vob  -o test.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts \
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=900 -oac mp3lame -lameopts cbr:br=128 -vop \
scale=512:256:crop=718:364:0:56

The result is rather weird, I get scaled down movie but black bars are
still there. If I perform cropping only, the end result is perfect.
Same is true if I only perform scale down, except this time it is
normal the black bars are still there. I have obtained the cropping
parameters with mplayer -vop cropdetect unnamed-001.vob

At first I have suspected the bug was there because I also had
deinterleave option present (pp=lb), but removing it didn't help.
Second thing I suspected was because I used -ss and -frames command
line options, but removing them did not help either. I managed to get
correct result once with the command line above, but only once. I then
re-ran the command couple of times and it always resulted in incorrect
behaviour.

The same results appear on another machine which is the same as above
except it is a Pentium 4.

Is this a known thing or am I doing something wrong ? I found command
very similar to mine in the docs though so I assumed I am doing it
right.
