[MPlayer-users] Playing a movie without X windows

Can someone please provide the mplayer command to do this full-screen
without X?

 

I'm at a runlevel of 3 (init 3) and when I try ;

 

mplayer -fs foo.avi

 

the avi plays fine with sound, but won't go full-screen! I tried -expand but
it has no effect.

 

I also tried -vo vesa -x 800, but no change to the size of the video window
resulted.
