the doc starts with something like: if it isn't in teh docs - then it doesn't
exists/possible. it's very true in your case too.

i doubt this is in the docs, or it is bad.
the right way of encoding image sequence is mencoder -mf on \*.jpg
and -o test.mpg has no any sense, as it only outputs to .avi files
i doubt you quote the docs here.
