hmm, i doubt
imho it's a race condition problem, maybe sometimes the resize XEvent
arrives too late and resize the window back? or so...
i see such thing with mwm when keep presisng 'f', after a while the window
gets maximized. from teh debug log i can see that the resize event for N.
resize arrives _after_ the (N+1). resize...
X11 is a very silly thing... we would kill its designer many times...
