It's showing me I/O errors, but not a lot more information.

May 2 19:56:31 defiant kernel: VFS: Disk change detected on device
ide0(3,64)
May  2 19:56:32 defiant kernel: hdb: command error: status=0x51 {
DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
May 2 19:56:32 defiant kernel: hdb: command error: error=0x54
May  2 19:56:32 defiant kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb),
sector 1158720
May  2 19:56:32 defiant kernel: hdb: command error: status=0x51 {
DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
May 2 19:56:32 defiant kernel: hdb: command error: error=0x54
May  2 19:56:32 defiant kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb),
sector 1158724

I used hdparm to turn on DMA (hdparm -d1 -X34 /dev/hdb), but I was
getting similar messages prior to doing so.
