Yes but to your distro maintener, not here.  You removed the next line
but I guess it would have the address to which you should have
reported...

Yes.  Anyway, you should upgrade to the latest gcc-3.0.X (not 3.1) as it
fixes lots of bugs and performance issues.

Tests in ./configure are far less stressing than the mplayer
compilation.
