[MPlayer-users] is this an acceptable forum for asking about SVCD creation using mencoder?

Okay, pulled down mjpegtools, compiled and installed without problem.
Had to hit CVS to get a version of mencvcd, but got it, and now not
sure how to use. All the examples are for how to rip from dvd, but
say I have a .wmv file that mplayer playes fine: foo.wmv

I tried:
# cat foo.wmv | mencvcd foo -noburn

And I can see that it calls mplayer, then it seems to just hangs. It
creates a stream.yuv pipe, but I can't see that's doing anything. I
started with a very small file and gave it an hour, but it didn't
seem to do anything. Am I using this wrong? I would rather have a
bin/cue to play with before burning, but I can go straight to VCD if
necessary...

Thanks in advance...
