Hi,

When I try and encode from an NTSC DVD, I get a stream of these:-

duplicate 1 frame(s)!!!

on stdout and the video is very noticeably jerkey... sort of like a
heartbeat... most noticeable on slow pans etc...
It's fine on PAL DVD's so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced
this problem?
Can anyone see any problem with this command line:-

cat *vob | mencoder -nosound -o /dev/null -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=7100:vhq:vpass=1 -npp lb -
I'm also interested to know how much difference doing it in 2 passes
makes, 1 pass would be much faster.
And finally, has anyone else noticed that mencoder created AVI files fail
to play in XP's "Windows Media Player"... Although I can't find anything
wrong and they play in W2K's version... as well as any other player on XP.
I'd appreciate being copied directly on any response because I don't
always keep up with every list and I'd hate to miss your comments!
