Are you sure you copied the *entire* contents of libavcodec/ , including
the contents of subdirectories?  E.g., with GNU cp:

$ cp -Riv ffmpeg/libavcodec/* MPlayer/libavcodec/

That's tripped me up a few times-- I forget recursing and end up
cursing.  :)
