[MPlayer-users] cropping movies

im back again ;)

well im trying to get mencoder to crop a movie of mine permentaly, with
the following command:

mencoder You_Only_Live_Twice.avi -ovc copy -vop crop=720:346:0:65 -oac
copy -o YOLT.avi

for some reason it doesnt apply the crop to the resulting YOLT.avi
file... why not?

also...

as for doing 2 pass encoding, i think i recall someone mentioning that
there are 3 algorithms that can be used to do it...how do i choose which
one? is it the mode=1/2/3 switch? seems to me that the mode switch is
for the setting for audio methods... so am i confused? is it the audio,
not the video that has 3 algo's possible for encoding 2 pass movies?
