I don't know if this is DRI related but here it goes:

I have an ATI 3D Rage Pro II (Mach64 based) and with the GATOS driver 
(http://www.linuxvideo.org) I can use xv without problems. Well, I had 
only one problem and is that my video memory is only 4 MB and with 
large movie resolution (for example 720x576) mplayer did'n start xv 
mode (insufficient resources), but it seems that with latest CVS 
version the problem was fixed (thanx!).
