I don't think, the libs you can obtain from http://www.divx.com will
work on FreeBSD, but why don't you follow the libavcodec/README?

Hmm, you already did, so this should work.

Note: If you use the CVS, you have to manually copy the
ffmpeg/libavcodec directory, as stated in the README.
