it's a bit much mroe difficult. there are 4 flags a various headers together
giving some field/frame display time. but in theory, yes, it's possible to
detect different behaviour of this flags and detect fake rate (they are
not really duplicated, just delayed by half frame/field time).

yes. but not "real" ntsc's can be 24 fps, 15 fps, 25 fps or really variabel
fps mpegs... for proper detection, you should count frames for a few
seconds, and decide his it constant rate, converted rate (constant ratio,
like 2:2 : 3:2 at telecine) or variable rate.
