[MPlayer-users] strange behaviour

of 0.60pre and 0.60.
there seems to be some conflict between audio and video codecs on my
machine - when i try to play divx (Divx4linux codec) i can hear the
sound just fine, but the video stops at first frame; when audio output
is blocked (i.e.running xmms) mplayer shows an alert window, then plays
the video normally (w/ no sound). has anyone had such problems?
i'm running debian woody on pIII, kernel 2.4.16.
