I have a basic Radeon board:

00:0f.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 5144

and am trying to use the fbdev output mode of mplayer using the
mplayer (latest CVS) supplied version of the radeonfb.o frame buffer
device.

I seem to be getting three pictures accross the screen in what looks
like an interlaced fashion (one each for the R, G and B components?)
instead of one nice looking picture on the screen.

I am simply using the switches:

-vo fbdev -bpp 16

I have my framebuffer at the fbdev mode of 1600x1200-76. The
particular video has the following attributes:

VIDEO:  [DIVX]  320x240  24bpp  29.97 fps  1844.6 kbps (225.2 kbyte/s)
[V] filefmt:3  fourcc:0x58564944  size:320x240  fps:29.97 ftime:=0.0334

Should I switch the fbdev to a 320x240 mode or will mplayer use the
hardware scaling of video card to scale up to the fbdev resolution?

I am also seeing quite frequently my entire box hanging trying to get
this to work. Perhaps when the right combination of things is done
such that I get a full-screen (is fbdev scaled with hardware if
radeon_vid is loaded?) fbdev output it will stop hanging.
