Hi,
I've just commited a bunch of fixes and improvements to the AVI demuxer.
It should fix all 'no video stream' files (except for type-1 DV files).
Note: several people uploaded .AVI files which are really .ASF but renamed.
they are still unplayable as use unknown chunk types. As M$ finally released
some ASF specs, i'll be able to fix these, but later, nowdays i'm busy with
other stuff. If mplayer says 'Detected ASF file' then it is not mplayer's
detection fault (impossible to miss avi/asf format detection) but a valid
ASF file.
Other files just needed -forceidx/-noidx to workaround broken index table,
or -ni to avoid buffering problems (badly interleaved files) or -nobps to
workaround broken audio stream header. Sometimes combination of these.
If you have any AVI (not ASF renamed) files still unplayable, and none of
the above things help, then upload sample and .txt including verbose
(mplayer -v) logs.
Still on my AVI TODO:
- re-sync for very broken files (-forceidx)
- fix playback of files while being downloaded (0.60 behaviour)
- ODML index support (for big files or files with broken old-style index)
