I am using the latest mplayer from cvs on my P3-600 with a PCI Radeon
card.
I am experiencing quite a few system freezes lately. The video
playing will stop and the last second or so of audio just plays over
and over (very annoying :-).
At this point, the OS is hung. The box won't even answer a ping from
the network. I am however, able to use the magic sysrq keys to sync
the disk(s), unmount filesystems and boot, so it's not a total
hardware freeze.
lspci says this about my hardware:
00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C691 [Apollo PRO] (rev c4)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C598 [Apollo MVP3 AGP]
00:07.0 ISA bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C596 ISA [Apollo PRO] (rev 23)
00:07.1 IDE interface: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C586 IDE [Apollo] (rev 10)
00:07.2 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C586B USB (rev 11)
00:07.3 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.: Unknown device 3050 (rev 30)
00:0f.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 5144
00:10.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139 (rev 10)
00:11.0 Multimedia audio controller: Yamaha Corporation YMF-754 [DS-1E Audio Controller]
I know there has got to be more information I could include, but with
this kind of problem, I am not sure what more you might want to know.
Just let me know what more I can tell you and I will.
Thanx,
b.
