[MPlayer-users] DVD-video-stutters on RedHat 8

Chris,
	Since this a problem in both mplayer and ogle, it may be an issue
with DMA on ur DVD/CD drive. U claim to have tried out hdparm etc. but
have u verified if the kernel supports DMA on the CD/DVD drives ("dmesg"
may be helpful)? If not, u need to get a new kernel. The latest (Dec 19)
is in ftp://updates.redhat.com/8.0/en/os/i686/ . Try the kernel-debug and 
see if this kernel helps.

Regarding the NVIDIA geforce2 go driver, I have read that the latest 4191
drivers have slower 2D (but faster 3D) but that slowdown should be evident
even when u r playing a movie from the hard-drive.
