[MPlayer-users] black square when playing file

I have a redhat 8.0 system with a radeon 7500 video
card, I installed the rpms and the win32 codecs but
when I try and play a file all I get is a black
square where the video should be. I have tried mpg,
avi, divx, dvd and some other file types all with
the same results. I chacked and made sure that I had
the latest versions of all the packages mentioned. I
tried using -vc ffmjpeg as stated in one of the FAQ
questions but then the player crashed, I put the
output of that below the first output. I tried
compiling the latest from cvs with the same results.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: key_events
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a
'gdb' backtrace and disassembly. For details, see
DOCS/bugreports.html section 5.b.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen. It can be
a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_
in your gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault,
please read DOCS/bugreports.html and follow
instructions there. We can't and won't help unless
you provide these informations when reporting a
possible bug.
