I use mjpeg so that I can edit the result afterwards with the mjpegtools
utilities. My system is more than up to the task of real-time
mjpeg-encoding - DMA is enabled and all - so excessive/frequent writes
to disk should not be a problem.

However, I'll give mpeg4 a go, and see what happens. If the result's OK,
it would indicate that there's a problem with the mjpeg encoder.
