Do you read the ml? There is just now a discussion about it.
Did you try -vop scale?

Nothing, just RTFb ;)

Before reporting a bug:
    Check the manuals/manpage -> OK
    Check the manuals again -> OK
!   Read bugreports.html -> NOT OK
    Check if it really is a mplayer/mencoder related question -> OK

Optionally:
    Search through the ml archive
    Do some research for yourself and try to isolate the problem
    Fix the problem and send a patch after reading patches.txt :)
    ...
