ah, it's called mplayer-users. we've tried several names but whatever we did
those always posted the flame to the -users list. So finally we've created
an -advusers list, for the people actually RTFM and post in topic related to
mplayer somehow. It isn't announced at the homepage, but is in the docs. As
there are only a very few people subscribed and avg 1 posts/week it means no
one actually RTFM. So we stay here on mplayer-users(-flames) list now.

Did you have any success finding such messages already? I didn't :(

huh.
users has only one use: testing & reporting bugs. but they cannot do that.
so they has no any use. they always think that we're here to support them by
searching and quoting the manual for them. they're wrong.
we're writting mplayer for fun, hobby, for ourself. if we need a feature, we
implement it. if we don't need it we won't. won't, even if hundreds of users
ask for it. if we can reproduce a bug we will fix it. if we can't reproduce
we can't fix. if user can't report bugs we can't reproduce. unfortunatelly
this logic is too difficult to follow for those reading this list...
they think we will spend days to find out the environment, parameters etc
they used to crash mplayer. no, we won't. they HAVE TO tell it.
sorry for being arrogant, but you made me arrogant.
