it's enabled in official mplayer rpm.
read it again:

so it's there, and it tries to open /dev/fb0
but he doesn't have (tdfx)fb enabled in the _kernel_.

tdfxfb is for fb console, not X!
you may want Xv instead of tdfxfb if you want X
