[MPlayer-users] [-vo null -nosound] and -dvd

When i 'play' a dvd with 'mplayer -vo null -nosound -dvd 1', mplayer
spits some errors(i'll check them later
today...i don't have a dvd device here) and sometimes i have to use
'kill -9 %1' to terminate it(ctrl-c doesn't
work). Can someone else try that and tell me if it does the same? (i'll
send a bugreport if it happens on
others too...).

Btw, i use the '-vo null -nosound' options in a shellscript to 'detect'
the video resolution from mplayer's
messages, and recommend some good re-scale resolutions and crop values
and i was wondering if there's
a better way to detect the resolution of a dvd disc...
