[MPlayer-users] mencoder suggested bitrate strange

Greetings -

I to encode a DVD to divx using the 3-pass method and observed
something strange - the suggested bitrates were all higher than the
original DVD. The DVD is, according to mencoder, at 5000.0 kbps
but the "Recommended video bitrate" values are 6477, 6993 and 8026
	respectively.

That seems strange. I chose a value of 1000 and proceeded with the
encoding run - looks ok so far.

mencoder -dvd 1 -chapter 2-7 -vop scale=640:480 -sws 2 -oac mp3lame -lameopts vbr=3:br=224:q=4 -ovc frameno -o frameno.avi

It's not a big problem (easy to pick a sane value) but it did seem
	weird enough to mention.
